CASF Then and Now

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE IN SOUTH FLORIDA

CASF is a not-for-profit with a stated mission to promote and serve South Florida’s commercial construction industry. CASF prides itself on the business networking, professional education, communications, and outreach programs that it provides to its members. Companies that belong to CASF quickly realize their membership is an invaluable business investment that contributes to the overall success of their businesses.

OUR HISTORY

CASF’s roots date back to 1950 when it was founded as the Broward Builders Exchange. The association was formed by a group of professionals concerned with the well-being of the local commercial construction industry. From the beginning, members met to grow their business contacts and discuss all aspects of the building business.

Over time, the exchange grew to include numerous construction firms from adjoining South Florida counties. At the same time, the goals of the group broadened to encompass a wider range of membership activities, including professional development through education, participation in government affairs, promoting careers in construction and service work in its member communities.

By 1991, the founding name no longer accurately described the group's geographic representation, its activities or its accomplishments. To better communicate its expanded role, the association adopted a new name – the Construction Association of South Florida (CASF).

OUR FUTURE

In 2018, the association rebranded under the moniker, CASF, as it has come to be known in the industry. It also established a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit CASF Foundation to encompass its charitable activities and its growing commitment to fostering the industry's next generation of workers.

Today, CASF member firms are among the most proactive construction professionals in the industry. They include the region’s top general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers, all of whom share a keen interest in the success of the construction industry and their communities in South Florida. Associate members of the organization represent leading law, accounting, banking and insurance companies, among other firms. CASF design professional members are dynamic architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects.

These members are focused on the well-being of the building industry throughout Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. More importantly, these members also busy working to shape the future of commercial construction throughout South Florida.
